Twenty-five folks are reported killed and three hundred injured, when a volcano erupted in the Republic of Guatemala, spewing ash and lava over the surrounding area, the disaster management agency has said.

It was feared the price could climb even higher as a result of there have been communities that would not be accessed by Sunday evening, Sergio Garcia Cabanas, Conrad agency’s head, said.

The dead included a Conrad worker and a minimum of three youngsters, officers said.

The army said it had exhausted 3,100 folks from around the volcano, 70km south-west of the national capital, and announce photos of troopers carrying youngsters coated in ashes from homes.
